Full Value Protection Plan

Jaybird's Provides basic valuation protection for customer belongings. This service provides customers with comprehensive protection for their belongings during any type of move, packing, junk removal, or hauling services. Under this plan, Jaybirds Home Moving Hauling LLC will be responsible for the full repair, replacement, or cash settlement for items lost or damaged during service.

Service Coverage Options:

1.) Moving Services:

  • Full Value Protection for residential moves covers all personal items.
  • Cost: Typically, $0.60-$1.00 per pound of the total shipment weight or 1%-3% of the total value declared by the client (whichever is higher)
  • Claim Settlement: For any item damaged or lost, Jaybird's will repair, replace, or provide a cash settlement based on the item's current market value.
  • Exclusions: Items of extraordinary value (e.g., antiques, jewelry, collectibles) must be declared separately and may require additional insurance.

 1.) Packing Services:

  • Full Value Protection for items packed by JayBird's Home Moving includes:
  • Coverage of any damages during packing transportation.
  • Cost: $50-$100 per room packed, or $0.60 per pound of packed items.
  • Settlement Process: For any broken items, JayBird's will replace or repair them or offer a cash settlement up to the item's value at the time of the incident.
  • Exclusions: Items packed by the customer and not handled by Jaybird's are not covered under FVP unless explicitly stated in the agreement.

3.) Junk Removal Services:

  • Full Value Protection for junk removal covers any accidental damages to the property or personal items while removing junk.
  • Cost: A flat fee of $100-$200 per load for FVP during Junk Removal.
  • Settlement: JayBird's will be responsible for any property damage (e.g., damage yo walls, floors, or accidental removal of items that weren't to be discarded). The company will repair or compensate for the damage.

 

4.) Specialty Services:

  • Full Value Protection for specialty items such as pianos, safes, or large machinery:
  • Cost: $300-$600 per specialty item, depending on the value and weight.
  • Coverage: Full repair or replacement of specialty items that are damaged during the move.
  • Exclusions: Pre-existing damage or items not declared in the initial contact.

5.) Hauling Services:

  • Full Value Protection for large hauling services, particularly for sensitive or valuable items.
  • Cost: A flat fee of $100-$250 per load or $0.60 per pound for high-valued items.
  • Settlement: Any items damaged during the hauling process will be either repaired or replaced, or JayBird's will offer a cash settlement based on the current market value of the item.

Additional Terms for full-service protection:

  • Claim Filing Process: Clients must report damages within 7 days of the service completion. Claims will be processed within 30 days of submission.
  • High-Value Item Declaration: Items valued over $1,000 (e.g., electronics, artwork) must be declared before the service begins. Additional FVP coverage may be required for these items.
  • Exclusions: FVP does not cover damages caused by natural disasters, items packed by the customer, or pre-existing damage.
  • Deductible Options: Customers can choose a $0 deductible for a higher FVP fee or a lower premium with a deductible (e.g, $100 or $250).

JayBird's is not liable for:

  1. Items packed by the customer without prior inspection.
  2. Items that are not properly secured or labeled.
  3. Damage resulting from weather conditions or natural disasters.
  4. Pre-existing damage to items or high-value items not declared in advance (e.g., antiques, art).

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellations made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled service will be refunded in full.
  • Cancellations Made within 24 hours before the scheduled service will incur a cancellation fee of 25% of the estimated service cost.
  • Cancellations made under 24 hours before the scheduled service will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the estimated service cost.

Same-day Cancellations:

  • If the cancellation occurs on the day of the scheduled service, the full 50% fee will apply, or if the crew has already been dispatched, the client may be charged 100% of the first hour of service as a minimum.

Rescheduling:

  • Clients may reschedule services without a fee if they do so at least 48 hours before the scheduled date. Rescheduling within 24-48 hours will incure a 10% rebooking fee. Rescheduling on the same day will be treated as a cancellation, with the associated fees applied, and a new booking will need to be made.

No-Show or unable to complete service:

  • If the customer is unavailable or unresponsive on the day of the move and the crew cannot gain access, it will be treated as a same-day cancellation, and 50% of the service fee will be charged.

Refunds:

  • Refunds where applicable, will be processed within 5-7 business days after the cancellation is confirmed.
